Author of the month - Nguyễn Nhật Ánh

Nguyen Nhat Anh was born on May 7, 1955, in Do Do village, Quang Nam province. He is considered one of the most successful childhood writers, with more than 100 works covering many genres.

Before becoming a famous writer, Nguyen Nhat Anh used to teach and write newspapers with many pseudonyms such as Chu Dinh Ngan, Le Duy Can, Dong Phuong Soc, Soc Phuong Dong, etc. At the age of 13, he has published poetry. In 1984, his first feature-length work.

The themes revolve around stories about school, homeland, and Vietnam with a simple, rustic style. Nguyen Nhat Anh has conquered many generations from young people to middle-aged readers, because every time he reads his stories, he gets lost in the domain of childhood memories, being in harmony with nature, grass, clouds, and sky. heaven, and surely somewhere we will see our image in the story with broken school-age relationships, or naughty jokes with friends. Perhaps that's why his stories are reprinted continuously and have never lost their appeal to those who love Nguyen Nhat Anh's literary quality.

Nguyen Nhat Anh has won many awards, such as: in 1990, the long story "Troubled Boy" was awarded by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union the Prize for Young Literature Grade A. In 1995, he was elected as the author. Most popular literature in 20 years (1975-1995) through a poll of readers about familiar young faces in all fields of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and Tuoi Tre Newspaper was also voted by the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association. Ho Chi Minh was selected as one of 20 typical young writers in 20 years (1975-1995).

In 2010, his work "Cho toi xin mot ve di tuoi tho" was awarded the ASEAN Literature Prize.
