Interactive Periodic Table: Royal Society of Chemistry: This interactive table includes the history, alchemy, podcasts, videos, and data trends for each element.
American Chemical Society: Finds news articles on current topics in chemistry.
Science Daily: Chemistry: Find the latest chemistry news articles from Science Daily.
CheMagic - the Virtual Model Toolkit: Useful tool designed to help visualize molecules while providing additional chemical data about the compound. Typing the name of the compound of interest will result in the appropriate ball-and-stick model, as well as a space-filling model. Right-clicking on the model gives you an extensive menu of options, including the ability to export it in a variety of image formats. Created by Dr. Otis Rothenberger, Chemistry faculty, Illinois State University (retired).
eMolecules – Searching the World’s Chemistry: Locate suppliers of chemicals using structure, CAS registry numbers or names. Find spectra for 500 selected compounds free.
PubChem Project: PubChem includes substance information, compound structures, and bioactivity data in three databases, PCSubstance, PCCompound, and PCBioAssay, respectively. Integrated with Entrez, which is NCBI’s primary search engine, PubChem also provides compound substance data.
Open Educational resources (OER): are teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions.
